We are always looking for people to join the Plumpton Park Zoo family. Our three primary departments are Animal Care, Maintenance and Admissions, and we keep resumes and applications on file.
Full and part-time positions are available. Retirees and seniors are welcome, and we are always glad to hear from volunteers and docents.
Animal Care
Zookeepers require a four-year degree, or to be working toward a four-year degree, in biology or animal science. Keeper assistants do not require a degree, though animal experience is helpful.
Maintenance
Maintenance work is physical. Grass cutting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, fence building and mechanical backgrounds are all beneficial, and experience operating tractors, mowers, chainsaws and skid steers is helpful.
