Fallow deer have keen senses of smell, sight, and
hearing that help the deer fi nd and defend food.
There are many color variations of Fallow deer such
as chocolate brown, spotted and white. Bucks grow
“spike” antlers in their fi rst year. The following years
they grow broad, shovel shaped antlers that can be
20 – 38 inches long.

DIET

Fallow deer forage on a variety of vegetation
including grasses, herbs, dwarf shrubs, leaves, buds,
shoots, and bark.
